Don't see anything for you ?

Did you know the the Library fills over 300 positions every year! Most of these positions are filled by existing Library staff members. We strongly believe in developing talent and promoting from within.

And we're always accepting applications for:

  • Adult Shelvers (Part-time and On-call)
    • Shelvers sort and return books and other items to their proper locations on shelves. It is a physically demanding job and you will be required to pass a test of your ability to do heavy, repetitive work.
  • Librarians (Full-time, Part-time and On-call)
    • If you’ve got lots of energy and ideas, leadership skills, and a MLIS, we want to talk to you. Our preference is for candidates with good general experience. Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their best use in public libraries will make you stand out from the crowd.

Applications for Shelver positions can be picked up and dropped off at any library branch in Calgary. (Download an application form)

Professional Librarians should submit a covering letter and resume to  humanresources@calgarypubliclibrary.com
